The East Bay Department of Surgery consists of an academic surgical department located at Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland with extensive clinical and administrative responsibilities to ACMC and an interactive academic and administrative relationship with the UCSF Department of Surgery.
The purpose of the UCSF - East Bay Department of Surgery is twofold:
- To serve as the site for an RRC-approved residency training program in General Surgery
- To deliver surgical care to the patients of the Alameda County Medical Center in the primary components of general surgery.
